On Oct. 23, The Denver Post ran a major editorial about youth in foster care.
Witten by Laura Rivera, a youth connections advocate with Raise the Future, the editorial pointed out that each child in foster care needs someone who believes in them, who shows up, and who offers encouragement and a sense of belonging.
The editorial explores misconceptions about these young people, who enter foster care for reasons beyond their control.
Consider whether you can help these vulnerable youths by becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate, a foster parent, or an adoptive parent. Or join with the South Metro Community Foundation as we work together with Advocates for Children to provide advocates to help the youth finding housing, finish high school, learn to budget and to save, etc. Make a difference in the life of a young person!
